The island of Pag is rich with history, full of traditional values and customs which is transferred to the children and grandchildren to this day. It is difficult to separate only one thing to see, but at least to mention what you should not miss seeing.

On almost all of the beaches of the island of Pag, during the summer you can enjoy a wide range of water sports.  Enjoy a ride on a jet-ski, try out water skiing or feel the rush of adrenalin while going surfing.  Or if these activities sound to active, just spend the day relaxing and basking in the Mediterranean sun. The island of Pag hides many interesting locations for experienced divers, as well as for beginners at diving.  The old sunken ships and unusually shaped underwater cliffs are waiting for you to discover their secrets.

Biking and trekking are also extremely popular with many scenic trails traversing the island.  With the multitude of small roads, paths and tracks where you can enjoy the seaside, Mediterranean woods and Pag is a cyclist’s dream oasis for all mountain bike fans.  The beauty of the unique countryside of the island of Pag and the wide range of cycle routes will satisfy even the most demanding cyclists.  Enjoy a ride along the well-looked after bike routes that run alongside the sea and pass through the magical island countryside.

Although many visitors simply want to luxuriate on the fabulous beaches there are plenty of things to see on the Island of Pag. At the Novalja Town Museum visitors can learn more about the archaeological history of the island and monumental buildings such as the noble Duke’s Palace built by the Venetians in the 15th century.  Visitors can also explore an underwater Roman aqueduct that courses beneath the town.  Take time to marvel at several other attractions on Pag Island including the 14th century Benedictine monastery of St. Margarita, housing one of the oldest monastic communities in the world, and the Pag Lace Museum for an overview of the island’s most famous craft.  The quaint simplicity of St. Mary’s Church blends in perfectly with the surroundings of Pag and should be on every itinerary when visiting the town.

Other things to do on the Island of Pag and the surrounding area include visits to the scenic cliffs and bays of Kornati and Krka National Parks, and the enchanting waterfalls of the Plitvica Lakes, one of the most beautiful parks in the whole of Europe.  When shopping on the Island of Pag, look out for Pag čipka, an exquisite type of lacework crafted using traditional methods, and the perfect souvenir to remind you of your time on this beautiful island.

Enjoy your holiday! :)
