The island of Pag is rich with history, full of traditional values and customs which is transferred to the children and grandchildren to this day. It is difficult to separate only one thing to see, but at least to mention what you should not miss seeing.
On almost all of the beaches of the island of Pag, during the summer you can enjoy a wide range of water sports. Enjoy a ride on a jet-ski, try out water skiing or feel the rush of adrenalin while going surfing. Or if these activities sound to active, just spend the day relaxing and basking in the Mediterranean sun. The island of Pag hides many interesting locations for experienced divers, as well as for beginners at diving. The old sunken ships and unusually shaped underwater cliffs are waiting for you to discover their secrets.
Biking and trekking are also extremely popular with many scenic trails traversing the island. With the multitude of small roads, paths and tracks where you can enjoy the seaside, Mediterranean woods and Pag is a cyclist’s dream oasis for all mountain bike fans. The beauty of the unique countryside of the island of Pag and the wide range of cycle routes will satisfy even the most demanding cyclists. Enjoy a ride along the well-looked after bike routes that run alongside the sea and pass through the magical island countryside.
Although many visitors simply want to luxuriate on the fabulous beaches there are plenty of things to see on the Island of Pag. At the Novalja Town Museum visitors can learn more about the archaeological history of the island and monumental buildings such as the noble Duke’s Palace built by the Venetians in the 15th century. Visitors can also explore an underwater Roman aqueduct that courses beneath the town. Take time to marvel at several other attractions on Pag Island including the 14th century Benedictine monastery of St. Margarita, housing one of the oldest monastic communities in the world, and the Pag Lace Museum for an overview of the island’s most famous craft. The quaint simplicity of St. Mary’s Church blends in perfectly with the surroundings of Pag and should be on every itinerary when visiting the town.
Other things to do on the Island of Pag and the surrounding area include visits to the scenic cliffs and bays of Kornati and Krka National Parks, and the enchanting waterfalls of the Plitvica Lakes, one of the most beautiful parks in the whole of Europe. When shopping on the Island of Pag, look out for Pag čipka, an exquisite type of lacework crafted using traditional methods, and the perfect souvenir to remind you of your time on this beautiful island.

The olive trees of Lun make it a unique place on the island of Pag and in the world. Among 80.000 olive trees in the area of Lun, there are about 1.500 wild olive (lat. Olea Oleaster), with the height of 5-8 m and a diameter of 20-80 cm. Experts have estimated the age of some trees more than 1.500 years! Because of its characteristic it was protected in 1963 and proclaimed a botanical reserve. Olive oil from Lun has a particular quality and aroma and is considered one of the best in the Adriatic
The island of Pag is a perfect place for bike riders of all ages and levels, marked by its length, the rugged coastline and, unlike most of the Adriatic islands, its relatively low configuration. So road cycling enthusiasts will find kilometres upon kilometres of paved roads. The views are truly wonderful and places to rest and cool down are frequent. You just need to avoid periods of dense car traffic.
Since 2001 it is organized every first weekend of July. The finale of the event is a cheese tasting organized for visitors and the cultural and entertainment program.
Cultural Summer Novalja is an event of international character that includes art exhibitions, concerts of classical music, performances by traditional singers (klape) and folklore ensembles, book promotions, theater performances, outdoor film screenings, concerts of pop music and similar culture and entertainment events. Begins on the eve of Antonje - the day of the town Novalja (the holiday of Saint Anton on June 13).
The most prominent place in Pag`s tourism holds the beach Zrće or "Croatian Ibiza ", which became a worldwide phenomenon, attracts every year a growing number of young people looking for a hot and fun summer spree. The entertainment in club Papaya, Calypso and Aquarius lasts 24 hours a day, with the music played by the world`s most famous DJs, for whom performances on Zrće have become a matter of prestige and sign of excellence.
A few kilometers from Novalja is a natural phenomenon, a megalithic imprint on the rocky ground known as the "Pag Triangle." The triangle is isosceles, its dimensions are 32x32x22 meters and has a shape of an iron imprint. As there is no beaten track, the visit to the site requires some skill in mastering the rocky terrain.
The Museum of the Town of Novalja is one of the most interesting cultural institutions, primarily because inside of the museum is the entrance to the underground aqueduct (Talijanova buža - the hole of Italian) dating back to the Antiquity, built in the first century BC. The aqueduct is entirely carved in stone by human hand, with a length of 1042 meters and with an average width of about 60 cm. Visitors can see a segment of 150 meters.
Pag lace is a type of lace with an exceptional beauty of patterns and the centuries old tradition of making. The first records of Pag lace date back to 15th century, and the way of making and patterns were passed down from generation to generation. At the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937 it received the gold plaque for high quiality hand-craft, while the Empress Maria Theresa kept a lace maker from Pag at the court in Vienna. Salt is also a product for which the island is famous and unique. The traditional way of producing salt through natural evaporation was abandoned 25 years ago when in the area of Svilno, 5 km south of the town of Pag, the salt factory was built. Today "Solana Pag" is the largest salt production facility in Croatia with the annual production of about 30.000 tonnes.
